Program Overview
The SYNC Volunteer Program enables individuals across the global community to play a direct role in building Syria’s tech ecosystem and unlocking 25,000 job opportunities for Syrian talent, through hands-on work or by sharing their expertise.
The program is designed to bring together talent at all levels to contribute, give back, and build together. It creates opportunities for individuals to share their knowledge, support and mentor others, and actively shape real outcomes on the ground. Through this work, people engage in live projects, collaborate, and gain hands-on experience where growth, connection, and development come as a natural result of the impact we create together.
Program Tracks
01-Build with SYNC
This is hands-on, structured contribution. You’ll work on real SYNC projects, individually or as part of a team, inside a fast-paced, professional environment that mirrors real-world corporate settings. Emerging talent and experienced professionals both have a place here.
How It Works
COMMITMENT
Typically, 4–12 weeks, with a defined scope and deliverables
FORMAT
Work independently or within a team, guided by a project lead or sponsor. Experienced contributors may own workstreams or provide domain expertise.
STRUCTURE
Clear scope, deliverables, and expectations set from the outset. Coordinated and supported by the SYNC team throughout.

How It Works
COMMITMENT
Flexible, typically 1–2 hours per session, one-off or recurring

Coordinated with the SYNC team around your availability and our community’s needs. Sessions are scoped and supported so your time is never wasted.
STRUCTURE
Mentorship sessions, expert talks or training, advisory input on programs, and open Q&A office hours with the etc.

Program Governance
To ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with SYNC’s mission, all initiatives and activities under the SYNC Volunteer Program are coordinated and approved centrally.
Projects, mentorship sessions, and expert contributions are defined based on SYNC priorities and are formally scoped, assigned, and supported by the SYNC team — so volunteers spend their time doing work that matters, not figuring out where to start.
This isn’t a platform where you drop in and disappear. It’s a structured community where your contribution has a clear home, a clear outcome, and a team behind it.
How to Get Involved
Calls for volunteers are posted directly in the Volunteer channel on the SYNC Discord server. If you’re interested, join the server, grab the Volunteer role in under two minutes, and keep an eye on announcements — your next contribution could be one post away.
