ABOUT SYNC
SYNC is a US based nonprofit, non-governmental organization committed to building a technology ecosystem for a better world. Founded by members of the Syrian technology diaspora in Silicon Valley, SYNC connects technologists in Silicon Valley with innovators across the global Syrian technology community.
Our mission is to foster opportunity and create technical jobs in the region through collaboration, knowledge exchange, and community building. We believe technology can be a transformative force—and we’re here to help unlock its potential where it’s needed most.
Our work is structured around three core initiatives:
Employers: Connecting global employers with qualified technical professionals and providing services that support recruitment, onboarding, and long-term retention.
Employees: Aggregating, preparing, and matching talent to market demand while maintaining international standards of technical excellence.
Connections: Building a global network of Syrian technologists in the diaspora through virtual platforms and in-person gatherings. SYNC has hosted high-impact conferences in 12 cities—including Silicon Valley, Berlin, London, Dubai, and Riyadh—bringing together talent, companies, and policymakers to accelerate pathways to employment.
As a mission-driven effort led entirely by volunteers, SYNC demonstrates how grassroots innovation from Silicon Valley can unlock large-scale opportunity and connect displaced talent with the future of work.
